When I met Stacy Julian for the first time in 2001, she gave me a big smile and hug like she’d known me for years.
That pretty much describes the kind of person Stacy is. She has this natural enthusiasm that is both warm and welcoming.
Whether it's for people, products, presentations, podcasts, or perceptions, Stacy's enthusiasm inspires me. I mean, if it wasn't for her blogging about Little Miss Matched, I'd have never thought about--let alone intentionally bought--mismatched socks. If it wasn't for her exuberance about Todd Henry of the Accidental Creative, I wouldn't have been exposed to his great insights. If it wasn't for Stacy's excitement about BeadHive Jewelry, I wouldn't have one of my favorite necklaces.
Simple Scrapbooks magazine, there wouldn't be this amazing magazine for me to be a part of. I look forward to perpetuating her vision and tapping into her signature enthusiasm as her schedule allows to continue the momentum of this great magazine. And I look forward to where Stacy's adventures will bring her next. I have a feeling that an even wider audience is about to become aware of her enthusiasm for scrapbooking, and I'll be able to say I "knew her when."
