p. 61 On a lighter note, how cute is that dog-bone paperclip?
p. 70 I drew those little sketches with a sharpie on copy paper,
then Marin scanned them in! (Of course I drew the sketches AFTER the
layouts were created and submitted, I'm not taking credit for the
layout design or anything. Just for the scribbles.)
p. 80 Enjoy this last installment of "Step It Up." We're
retiring the column and replacing it with something SUPER cool for
Jan/Feb 2008. Can't wait!!!
p. 83 Yes, those are really Krispy Kremes. It's all about
autenticity, folks. Marin drove all the way to Orem, UT, passing
several more convenient bakeries along the way, because she knew that
some of you alert readers would be able to tell the difference. We're
not sure who ate them, but they disappeared pretty quickly.
p. 87 Talk about paranoid. Donna broke two ornaments as she was
packing them up to ship, so we they were handled with extra care here
in the office. I'm happy to report that they made it through the photo
shoot fully intact.
p. 91 Stay tuned for the special p. 91 post tomorrow! This one deserved it's own post.
p. 93 Cutest tags ever! Handwriting is by Mi'Chelle Larson (2008
Simple Gal). And we've turned her handwriting into a font, which we'll
soon offer for FREE download on the site. I'll let you know when it's
available!
p. 94 Cute little Thomas! In December of 2004, my sister had
flown in to Salt Lake for a visit from her home in California. She was
just 25 weeks pregnant, and she went into labor and delivered a 2 lb. 2
oz. little boy at the U of U hospital. He was so tiny that my
brother-in-law could slip his wedding ring all the way onto Thomas'
upper arm. She had to stay here for 3 months (her husband had to go
back home to work) until Thomas was released from the hospital. He was
a little miracle and is now a perfectly healthy and happy toddler. My
sister's not a scrapbooker, so I made this album for her to collect a
few highlight pictures from his first year.
p. 99 Now there's a brilliant idea if I ever saw one.
p. 100 I promise, you really do want to buy this book.
p. 103 I love this layout. Pictures of Stacy's adopted daughter
that were taken before she finally made it into the Julian household.
p. 105 Pumpkin Pie is not easy to find in July, when we were completing our photo shoot. But the amazing Marin tracked it down!
p. 113 Whoever (Marin) thought of propping that layout with tater tots is brilliant.
p. 119 Another preemie story! Believe it or not, we get lots of
requests for more preemie layouts (that and twins). This issue has two
whole albums about preemies!
p. 127 This pic is a little disturbing at first. Make sure you read the journaling.
p. 128 This album is so adorable, don't you think? GREAT story!
p. 146 That's Stacy's actual Christmas album, that's one of her
actual stockings, and that's an actual jar of sprinkles that Stacy gave
out as a Christmas gift last year. Those are not Stacy's oranges or
walnuts. And that's not Stacy's hand (it's Rachel's) or her handwriting
(it's mine).
And that, my friends, is "Behind the Scenes: November/December 2007 edition." Until next time, adieu.
